My country New Zeland is located on the plate boundary between the Autralian plate, and the Pacific plate. It is a transformant fault.

Yes, and interestingly enough, the northern island is at a convergent boundary. That southern island, where the trasform boundary you mention is located, also has a portion where convergent boundary setting occurs. A very complex setting. You'll see how the volcanoes are earthquakes will be located in specific places, depending on which boundary we are talking.
